Dear Friends,
As the Pastor of Saints Philip and James I want to welcome you to our parish! In the heart of Charles Village, the beauty of our church has stood as a landmark for over 90 years serving the people of Baltimore and the Johns Hopkins Catholic community. Since 2010 Saints Philip and James has been under the care of the Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph. We seek to preach the Truth and Love of the Gospel to a world in need.
Our parish community is truly vibrant and diverse. We have everyone here--poor and rich, college students to young families to seniors, people of every race and background, and everyone in between. What unites us is our common identity as beloved sons and daughters of the Father and faith in His Son our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are a community that lives faithfully in the heart of the Church.
Saints Philip and James is committed to offering beautiful liturgy and to forming parishioners that they might enter ever more deeply into the Mystery of Jesus Christ. We are devoted to prayer and to courageously bringing the light of Christ into the world. On our website, you’ll find tons of information about who we are and what we’re all about. You’ll see that our mission To Encounter Jesus Christ in His Church and to Share Him with Others, shapes all that we do.
Whether it is in worship at Sunday Mass or Eucharistic Adoration, serving in our food pantry or participating in a book club, being a Hopkins student hanging in the Newman Center, attending a lecture on faith and culture, or simply helping to clean the church, we have something for everyone at Saints Philip and James. We care about the truth. We care about your questions. We care about you. I hope you will find a home here!
Please reach out to us if we can help in any way and know of my prayers.
Your Pastor,
Fr. Michael Weibley, O.P.
